We’ve made some new friends recently! Mockingbird Domestics is a thoughtfully curated retail shop on South Lamar. Owners, Jeff and Laura Daly, are responsible for this beautiful shop that specializes in home furnishings. One of the many things that we love about this business is their plethora of handcrafted goods by Texas artisans. Along with home furnishings, Mockingbird Domestics is a great place to visit if you are looking for a special gift.
Not too long ago, I was on the receiving end when Meredith gifted me with an amazing jadeite cake stand, one of my most treasured gifts. I was thrilled when I learned that they actually have a nicely-sized nook devoted to jadeite, milk glass, and vintage china. You really must see it for yourself. Visit the Mockingbird website or pop in to their shop on South Lamar.
Our new friendship with Mockingbird Domestics has blossomed into a few collaborations (and more to come!). We are thrilled to have Spruce represented in their wonderful store. Take a look at a few things we’ve recently worked on with Laura.
Always a favorite, Velvet Geo in black by Robert Allen, really gave this channel back arm chair some much needed gusto. Check out the Robert Allen website to see the many colors this beloved fabric comes in.

These little lamps are perfectly shaded with vintage Schumacher fabric Amanda and Meredith found in Round Top.

Robert Allen’s Wetherburns in Mandarin made the perfect complementary shades for this pair of vintage blue and gold speckled lamps. So much color; so much fun!
As though their beautiful shop isn’t enough, the folks at Mockingbird Domestics also offer workshops and demonstrations by local artisans. These events run the gamut from basket weaving to printmaking, and so much more. Their support of creators is truly admirable, and we are honored to work with them. We have a special surprise collaboration with Mockingbird Domestics coming up in a few months. We can’t wait to tell you…but you will have to wait just a little bit longer!
