Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Is spring coming soon, puh-lease???!!!
Clar here, bringing you some of the best of our recent winter flips! Grab some hot tea and a blanket, turn on your fireplace TV and scroll through these handsome pieces of furniture, before and after. Meanwhile, imagine your room full of fresh new upholstery and fabric to alleviate the winter doldrums… these folks did!

First on our ‘tops’ list – our designer/client’s Mid-Century daybed needed refinishing and all new padding.

After: fluffed, stuffed and tufted! Fabric is a Brunschwig & Fils chenille basket weave in Sea Glass.

Next, an antique English chair from across the pond, shown in its before shape: cherished and shabby. Our friend and client traveled from the motherland with many family pieces like this one. Sadly, she and her furniture will be going back to the United Kingdom this year.

After: covered in an old but crisp bolt of crushed linen velvet. I love how the aged velvet looks on the chair – a very cool makeover! I really do like to see all the marks throughout the velvet. It oozes casual and chic. Bon voyage, chair. Safe travels, friend!

Holy moly! After: the duo is shown in Avant Garde’s pattern Tsar color 945. So fresh and full of energy.

This before was our client’s first foray into flipping furniture. She removed damaged caning and turned the frame from white to a raw waxed wood herself!

After! Restyled and fab in Robert Allen’s Futura, colorway Persimmon.

Another before was really jazzy in its original fabric. This piece was for the accomplished Austin designer, Jerri Kunz!

Upholstered in Knoll’s Rivington in sapphire. Absolutely magnificent. Classic and au courant, both. Thanks so much, Jerri Kunz!

Pictured next is a cool set that had some needs! Rubber cushions were rotten and dry, fabric crispy, and wood dehydrated near the bottom of the feet from water damage.

Great gravy! Awesome with a buff and polish on the wood, new foam, and Robert Allen’s Wavy Goodbye in Pool.

After, looking forward to spring with Robert Allen’s Asterling in Edamame.

Deja Blue! Ha! Sorry – had to! After: a corte textile from our client’s travel was used, complete with colorful randas (embroidered stripes) just like before!

After: the pieces could not be more special! Our long-time client found a vintage Brunschwig & Fils dragon print on eBay, and paired it with MJD’s durable Prima Velvet in Navy. Outstanding! Brunschwig & Fils has re-issued the pattern “shishi”, though none are in such a rich color combination as this! Well done! (Thanks C.T. for the fabric info!)
I do hope that these before and afters encourage you to shovel the dirty snow off the driveway and clear the path to spring! Hang in there, dear readers – winter’s almost done and Spruce is here to help!
