The couple of cool front teases that we have experienced recently have really gotten me amped up for fall/winter. Although we are not quite in the midst of sweater weather, I have already begun to swap out my summer tanks for cozy knits. I have even started knitting a scarf in anticipation! Since furniture is pretty much always on my brain I naturally married the two ideas and then headed over to Google to see what offspring these two would make. Boy was I pleased with the results. There is so much cool knitted furniture out there. I was very inspired and wanted to share my findings with you all.
How amazing are these! The creator of these gems is Claire-Anne O’Brien. The Irish born (London based) textile designer takes the soft nature of knitted fabrics and presents it in a sculptural way. These pieces have so much interest. Check out more of her designs here.
Lynn Garrett is responsible for the above cozy pieces. Ms. Garrett has an Etsy shop where she has many more fantastic knitted creations. Using giant knitting needles allows Ms. Garrett to achieve a fantastical over sized knit which she uses on everything from armchairs to leg warmers. If this arm chair doesn’t make you want to curl up next to a fireplace with a book, then I don’t know what will.

Here are just two out of the many cool designs by Melanie Porter. Ms. Porter primarily designs her pieces using knits as well as her signature patchwork motif. The word boring does not exist in her universe.
Okay, so who is ready for winter? I am! Here in Texas we have such a tiny window of time to wear warm fuzzy things so maybe we should start thinking about incorporating knits into to our home decor so that we can enjoy it all year long. Alrighty…I have a wing back to knit!
