Texans tend to be a bit dramatic when it comes to change in weather. I for one will admittedly overreact when the weather changes even the slightest. This weekend, Austin experienced its first mornings that were pleasant, dare I say cool! About this time of year, we are all begging for the heat to leave and the cool temperatures of Fall to blow through. With that in mind, I have been newly inspired by the ever classic brand Pendleton. This mill had its beginnings in 1869 and has played a key role in many areas of American culture. The signature blankets they have made were very much a part of Indian ritual and ceremony, and when war-time came, the mill was devoted to producing blankets and uniforms for the troops.

America’s outdoors-men have coveted this brand as well for their warm and long lasting sportswear. A Pendleton boardshirt can last generations! Fun fact: did you know that before the Beach Boys were the Beach Boys, they were the Pendletons?!? Look how adorable they are with their surfboards and plaid. 🙂

Here are a few of my favorite blankets from Pendleton. We cruise antique malls and vintage shops all the time, and I have spied a few Pendleton blankets here and there. And this just scratches the surface!

Just as impressive are the traditional as well as unusual uses of Pendleton fabric in fashion.

With rustic chic (for lack of a better term) being so popular in design, these blankets and overall style can be found in all areas of home decor.

C’mon Fall! Hurry up and get here! I want to break out the blankets and plaid in honor of this fantastic brand, Pendleton.
