Inspiration of the Week: Outdoor Living

Hopefully, many of you are as happy as we are about daylight savings this week. As we all sprung forward Saturday night, I couldn’t help but think of how lovely it will be to have more daylight in the evenings after work. This means spending lots more time outside enjoying your outdoor living space.

At my house, we spent all weekend working in the yard and planting new plants. Beyond great landscaping to look at or walk through, think of all the furniture you can use outside to make your time there more enjoyable. My laundry list of home upholstery projects includes stylish cushions for our outdoor dining set to make the metal chairs a bit more comfortable for long outside dinner parties.

Spruce has a great selection of indoor/outdoor fabrics to look through, including Trina Turk, Duralee Pavillion and  Hable Construction. I’m in a blue period right now and loving these cool colors.

Here are some pieces we have we made at Spruce that are well-suited for outdoor life:

This was a great outdoor bench that used the same arches fabric that is on our Antique Arches Sofa.

This cute chair is still available at our store in Austin or online.

Also, a great local source to find outdoor furniture that might just need a little “Sprucing-Up” is Uptown Modern on Burnet Road. They have a great selection of metal patio furniture that can be make uniquely yours with some fab fabrics and the help of your favorite Sprucettes.

Enjoy living comfortably outside before it gets too hot, and happy spring to all!
