First off, happy Memorial Day! A great big “thank you” from Spruce goes out to all the soldiers and their families! I hope everyone has had a relaxing weekend, hanging with friends and family, eating BBQ, and kicking it in the shade to beat the 90-plus degree heat!
Memorial Day, for many people, marks the beginning of summer. Summer is my favorite season of the year. I’m inspired by all of the green plants, the feeling of jumping in the water, and finally getting some more vitamin D in the system. I feel like I come back to life when the thermometer hits 85 for the first time. 105 degrees? Bring it. I create the annual summertime ipod play list, kick up the running routine, eat yummy fruit, and start the days with my all-time fav, iced coffee with chocolate soy milk. Yesssssssss! Our workshop is not air conditioned, so I’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the heat this summer!

One thing I am seriously looking forward to this summer is getting a second dose of world-uniting sports–FIFA World Cup! You can read my previous post about the Winter Olympics in case you missed it. I LOVE sporting events of this scale. I like to think of the people all over the world waking up in the middle of the night to go watch the games, which I have done before. I highly recommend it–it only comes around every 4 years and you can sleep when you’re dead. Go Team USA!!

Viva Summer!! Enjoy…and drink lots of water!
