Inspiration of the Week: Country Music

Occasionally, you can walk into the back workshop at Spruce and find us kickin’ up our boots to some classic country. KVET tends to be our station of choice. There’s nothing like an upbeat country song to liven up the day. I don’t know about you, but I was a serious “kicker” in middle school. Does any of this ring a bell: Rocky Mountain Jeans (in purple, red, and pink), Ropers (in the same colors including pearlescent blue, yellow, and pink, all of which my mom had)?

If so, then the following playlist (compliments of moi) will bring back a handful of memories from the 90s.

1. Hal KetchumI Know Where Love Lives

2. Brooks and DunnMy Maria

3. The JuddsRockin’ With the Rhythm of the Rain

4. WynonaNo One Else on Earth

5. Tanya TuckerDown to My Last Teardrop

And who could forget the Queen of Country, Dolly Parton. Not only a fabulous musician, she also stars in a few of my very favorite movies, including Nine to Five, Straight Talk, and Steel Magnolias. After a recent Netflixing of Nine to Five, Meredith and I took turns recreating the “rooster to a hen” scene – maybe my favorite scene EVER! In case you haven’t seen it, check out the video below.

I’m off to listen to some country. Have a great week!

P.S. This entry could be a clue to some exciting Spruce news!
