We are happy to say that things have been in full swing at the shop. We’ve turned out some great pieces of furniture for our clients and even carved out a little time to add some new retail to the shop. One of the best parts of my job is getting to see all of the dramatic transformations. I feel like I am doing my part in the world, rescuing one chair at a time. It is comforting to know that a piece of furniture isn’t going in the dumpster simply because it’s in need of a facelift. As you will see below, our clients saw the potential in their furniture and wisely brought it to us.
It is quite obvious that this worn wingback has had a full life. Our client chose the ever popular Velvet Geo fabric by Robert Allen. It’s light and bright and oh so comfy!
Now THIS is a transformation! Before, this bench was ultra dated. After a high-gloss paint job and a crisp canvas by Perennials, it’s nearly unrecognizable. The diamond tufting really dresses it up. Great styling!
This chair was too serious before. The Cowtan and Tout fabric was the perfect remedy.
This beautiful settee was “spruced” up in more ways than one. Aside from the obvious new fabric, the Spruce team gave it some structural t.l.c. and a much more plump seat. It is so regal.
Our client really put a lot of thought into this wacky wingback. There are four different fabrics on this piece, and they all work harmoniously together. It is everything it wasn’t before: fun, interesting, and unique. Bravo!
As I mentioned earlier, we managed to squeeze in a couple of projects for sale at the shop. Take a look at what we’ve been up to.
We found this little cutie at Round Top. With a little elbow grease, voila! The cushions are made from a deliciously rich brown leather, while the innards include latex foam (a dream!) with a squishy angel hair wrap. Go take a look at more details about the Dakota Chair on the website.
Meredith came across this pair of unique wingback chairs at a favorite local vintage shop, Room Service. As soon as the new fabric samples arrived from Master Fabrics, we knew EXACTLY what needed to be on these beauties. Ondine features sound wave-like stripes in various blues, greens, and greys. Visit the shop to see more fabulous photos of these chairs.
As you can see, we have some really great new pieces, but I highly recommend you come by and check them out in person. I hope you enjoyed the latest installment of Spruce before and afters. I can assure you that there will be many more to come!
